The electorate of Marrickville covers 14 square kilometres of Sydney’s Inner West. It is bounded by Parramatta Road in the North, the Cooks River in the South, the Dulwich Hill Good line in the West and the Illawarra Railway in the East. It includes the suburbs of Camperdown, Dalington, Dulwich Hill, Enmore, Erskineville, Lewisham, Macdonaldtown, Marrickville, Newtown, Petersham, Redfern, Stanmore and Sydney University.

Carmel Tebbutt is the current member for Marrickville. She is Minister for the Environment and Climate Change and Deputy Premier. She is married to Labour factional power Anthony Albanese.
The next state election will be held in March 2012.
