Sylvie is a Native Title lawyer with a strong track record of getting things done for the local community as a local councillor. She grew up in Glebe and lives in Newtown.

“This is a critical election for those of us that value this amazing city, the people who live here and the environment that supports it,” Sylvie said on being preselected.

“I’m looking forward to campaigning with the community to defeat WestConnex, to achieve affordable housing for our city, to implement genuine solutions for climate change, and to put an end to the heartless and inhumane treatment of refugees.”

“By campaigning together we can affect real change. We can strengthen Sydney as a diverse, inclusive and progressive place to live and visit – for all of us, not just the few,” she said.

Greens NSW Senator Lee Rhiannon congratulated Clr Ellsmore and said “I’m really looking forward to joining Sylvie on the campaign trail.

Federal Parliamentary Leader Richard Di Natale said “Sylvie is an experienced and passionate advocate of Greens values and the people in her electorate. I’m so pleased to have her on the team,” he said.

    Dear Sylvie Ellsmore
Just a quick note to remind you all of the June 10 deadline for answers to questions to candidates to be published in the Glebe Grapevine.
Our original request, sent by snail mail on May 20, is attached below.
    in solidarity

Hands off Glebe is a local community group committed to advocacy for public housing and public housing tenants.
Every second month we publish and letterbox across the suburb 5,000 copies of a small newsletter, the Glebe Grapevine.
We are asking all the candidates for the seat of Sydney the following four questions.

    1. Do you support greater Federal funding for public housing?
    2. How would you resolve homelessness in Glebe?
    3. What is your view on inner city housing density?
    4. Do you agree with a vacant property tax?

We ask that your responses to these questions be as brief as possible.
We will publish your replies in full on our website and, in edited form if necessary for length reasons, in the June issue of the Grapevine.
We would need to receive your replies no later than Friday 10 June to be included in the Grapevine.
We look forward to receiving your response in the near future.
